Prayers and Praise

"Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me." Isaiah 45:11

God's Word teaches us in many religions and denominations of religions to praise him and pray out loud to him. The first example I chose was given above from Isaiah, here are some others;

"Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises". Psalms 47:6

"(A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day.) It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High". Psalm 92:1

"But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble". Psalm 59:16

These days prayer and getting in touch with the Holy Spirit is more important that ever for each of us personally and as a nation and indeed our entire planet. Whatever way you can find to help you get in touch with the Holy Spirit and to feel the presence of that Spirit and to experience the joy, peace, love and gratitude towards God, is the way to do that daily. Whether listening to a beautiful peace of music, or walking in nature, or singing songs of praise, listening to someone preach the word of God, or even enjoying the sweetness of a small child, it is important to get in touch with God daily.

As Pastor Kynan Bridges shared with us in his last video that I shared, Jesus didn't come to make Christians. Jesus came to teach us how to have a beautiful relationship with God our Father and to become sons of God. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name". John 1:13

There are moments, sometimes many moments for some of us, when we are praying or singing or maybe even looking at a beautiful nature scence when we become over joyed or overwhelmed with love and gratitude for our Father in Heaven and for His Son Jesus Christ and the creation. I believe it is in those moments when we experience the Holy Spirit. I find these moments have come to me sometimes suddenly or unexpextedly and I am then swept up as it were in the Spirit of the Lord. These things have shown me that the Holy Spirit makes Himself known through many avenues and those avenues may be different for each of us. I can listen to certain pieces of classical music for example, and have these experiences. Or often when listening to or hearing certain Christian hymns.

I'd like to share a couple of videos that I find especially soul stirring and I would love it, if you would like to share some of your favorites in the comments. I think it would be fun and interesting to make this a community sharing event!

Pastor Kynan Bridges shares with us the real reason Jesus came and what he came to teach us. Jesus did not say that he came to make Christians, he came to make sons. This is the relationship with God, you must be born again from above. A lot of people are Christians, but not everyone is "born again".

    Powerful message delivered at the right time for me. I've been so focused on the battle between men, I forgot to look up towards Heaven!
