New Mexico Gov. Grisham stole her election in 2020 and now plans to steal people's gun rights in 2023.

How much more absurd can political theater get? 

I have asked myself that question daily, and of late, the news feed does not disappoint. Today, we explore the newest absurdity: gun control via state emergency declaration. 

New Mexico's Gov. Grisham has pulled a political stunt attempting to steal gun rights by banning upstanding citizens from carrying firearms in Albuquerque.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday (9/8/2023) issued an emergency order suspending the right to carry firearms in public across Albuquerque and the surrounding county for at least 30 days in response to a spate of gun violence.

The Democratic governor said she expects legal challenges but was compelled to act because of recent shootings, including the death of an 11-year-old boy outside a minor league baseball stadium this week.

Lujan Grisham said state police would be responsible for enforcing what amounts to civil violations. Albuquerque police Chief Harold Medina said he won't enforce it, and Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen said he's uneasy about it because it raises too many questions about constitutional rights.

The firearms suspension, classified as an emergency public health order, applies to open and concealed carry in most public places, from city sidewalks to urban recreational parks. The restriction is tied to a threshold for violent crime rates currently only met by the metropolitan Albuquerque. Police and licensed security guards are exempt from the temporary ban. ~ APnews

And the most disturbing part of this whole gun grab stunt is that it has nothing to do with the public's safety. This governor and her puppet masters know it's about grandstanding, using incidents about child gun violence as the basis to tug on heartstrings. At the same time, it never addresses the real issue: criminals will be criminals until they are taken off the street.

PUSHBACK #3: The NRA will not let this order stand. They presented their strong pushback with a post on X, letting Gov. Grisham know the consequences of her absurd game plan while displaying one of the most descriptive images of the governor I have seen to date.

PUSHBACK #4: Two New Mexico representatives are now using the impeachment process to checkmate New Mexico's governor in her attempt to steal gun rights from the great gun owners of the great state of New Mexico: 

"New Mexico State Representatives Stefani Lord (R-22) and John Block (R-51) have called for the impeachment of Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) after she issued a public health emergency to strip away constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens to carry firearms in public in and around Albuquerque, the state's largest city.

"This is an abhorrent attempt at imposing a radical, progressive agenda on an unwilling populous. Rather than addressing crime at its core, Governor Grisham is restricting the rights of law-abiding gun owners," Lord wrote in a press release shared on X.
