In 1991 scientists discovered that the heart contains 40,000 cells that are configured to create what amounts to a little brain inside the physical heart that thinks and feels independently of the brain. Interestingly, in every culture or religion, there is a reference made to the heart and the idea that the heart is the dwelling place of our higher mind.

I performed a search of the New Testament with just the word "heart," and it returned 99 hits. I also searched for the word heart in the whole Bible, and that search returned thousands of hits. This tells us that in Christianity and even in Judaism, we are taught that the heart is the most important factor in determining our faithfulness to God or Christ. So I chose this quote from the Bible that speaks to my heart:

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Let's hear what Gregg Braden has to say about the heart/mind connection.

I have also chosen to share the "Wisdom Codes", by Gregg Braden. I found this amazing when I practiced it.

When I was practicing a form of prayer while connecting with my heart and visualizing the connection between the heart and the brain, I intuited that the prayer said out loud with the mouth or throat is a connective link between the heart and brain. So, even though meditation is an awesome way to connect heart and mind or brain, verbal prayer is also a very powerful way to affect change in our worlds.

Finally, I would like to refer you to the HeartMath Institute, where you can find more information on the Heart-Brain connection.

"Most of us have been taught in school that the heart is constantly responding to "orders" sent by the brain in the form of neural signals. However, it is not as commonly known that the heart actually sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart! Moreover, these heart signals have a significant effect on brain function – influencing emotional processing as well as higher cognitive faculties such as attention, perception, memory, and problem-solving. In other words, not only does the heart respond to the brain, but the brain continuously responds to the heart.

'The effect of heart activity on brain function has been researched extensively over about the past 40 years. Earlier research mainly examined the effects of heart activity occurring on a very short time scale – over several consecutive heartbeats at maximum. Scientists at the HeartMath Institute have extended this body of scientific research by looking at how larger-scale patterns of heart activity affect the brain's functioning."

We can use these cycles to take ourselves back in time to heal these personal issues, and if we chose on a large scale, I believe we can heal our planet from the scars from war and other chaos.
