Movie - 'Top Gun: Maverick' "shows what unfathomable bravery and incomparable talent our military has." Kayleigh McEnany
It has intrigue, controversy, and Patriotic fervor.
It's about time Hollywood stopped pandering to the 'be woke, go broke' crowd. Although I would love to believe it's not about the money, let's face it, we are all a bit skeptical when it comes to the illusion creation crowd in Hollywood.
To not appear too jaded, let us applaud the sincerity with which I hope this movie was made.
Bringing back the sequel to Top Gun as a Memorial Day release that broke a few box office records was a genius move, as was casting the TOP GUN himself, Tom Cruise, who shall always be America's favorite pilot, as Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell.

"...it was reported that Paramount Pictures currently has no plans to show the sequel in theaters in China. Chinese tech giant Tencent has reportedly backed out of a 12.5% investment in the film over fears that Communist Party officials would disapprove of their involvement in a movie lionizing the U.S. military."
China's CCP attitude did not stop "Top Gun: Maverick" from being a box office hit.
"It was reported today that with a four-day estimated opening of $156 million, "Top Gun: Maverick" has surpassed "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" for the highest Memorial Day weekend opening ever.
"Even Top Gun 2's three-day opening of $126.7 million ranks fourth-highest among all films released in the U.S. since theaters reopened, The Wrap noted.
"Fox News' Kayleigh McEnany voiced her praise for the movie in a quote tweet of Clay Travis..."
I saw “Top Gun: Maverick” yesterday. Every showing was selling out at the theater I went to.— Kayleigh McEnany (@kayleighmcenany) May 30, 2022
It is unapologetically pro-America and shows what unfathomable bravery and incomparable talent our military has. Wow!
Not surprised it is breaking records… https://t.co/8Udi5IdgeW
believes for the first time in his film career, Tom Cruise has made a movie that will top the $100 million mark in sales. Not bad for a sequel that took 36 years to produce.
"Audiences felt the need for speed, Maverick style, and they didn't mind waiting through pandemic-related delays. Why? It's complicated, but several factors helped Cruise reach new heights in his decades-old career...' ~ Toto

The film's cult-like following has brought out the best in Hollywood
There was a controversial change-up that caused an outcry from those who noticed. So Hollywood listened, and this happened:
"Hollywood has chosen the USA over China after it responded to the outcry from fans who noticed the Taiwanese flag was missing from the bomber jacket worn by Tom Cruise's character in the trailer of "Top Gun: Maverick. The patch, originally seen on the back of Lieutenant Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell's black leather jacket in the 1986 film "Top Gun," was missing in the 2019 trailer for the then-long-awaited sequel to the movie, the Daily Mail reported."
In an unprecedented move, the studio decided to change the jacket scene back to the original and not pander to the CCP.
"It is unprecedented," Ho Siu Bun, a film critic in Hong Kong, told VICE World News. "Major film studios have never been shy about pandering to the Chinese market. And even if it is a simple scene, editing is very costly. So no one knows why they changed it back. During the Taiwan screening, audiences reportedly cheered and clapped when their flag appeared, the outlet noted." ~ Vice
